The Dempsey Manor is delighted to host your intimate wedding here in the Victorian ambiance of the remarkable James Dempsey Mansion. A joyful celebration awaits you, your Wedding Party, and your Guests -- along with unforgettable memories to last a lifetime.

The Common Rooms of the entire first floor will be opened to explore during this happy four-hour event: the Conservatory/Chapel, the Gentlemen's Parlor, the Ladies' Parlor, the Grand Foyer, the Dining Room, and the Library.

Our Wedding at the Manor Package includes

  • Bride and Bride's Maids changing room

  • Groom and Groom's Men changing room

  • A lovely Marriage Ceremony set within the Glass Conservatory

  • The Officiant

  • Seating for up to twenty persons

  • Processional and Recessional recorded music

  • A High Tea Wedding Buffet

  • Formal Gift Table

  • Available Two-Night Special Room Rates for any member of your Wedding Party or Guests

                     15% off each night when booking one to two Guest Rooms

                     20% off each night when booking three to four Guest Rooms

                     25% off each night when booking five or more Guest Rooms

Additional Details included in the Package

  • The Glass Conservatory is reset and dressed for Chapel use in silk foliage and white blossoms, with upholstered folding chairs for your Guests

  • The Changing Rooms are private for the Principal members of the Wedding Party, and accessible to them on the second and/or third floor

  • The Officiant is recognized by the State of Michigan to preside over nuptial ceremonies

  • Following the Marriage Ceremony, a sumptuous High Tea buffet is laid out with an ample variety of savories, finger foods, hot dishes, baked offerings and sweet selections for your Guests, including Gourmet Coffee, fine imported Teas, and a Wedding Punch

  • Complimentary champagne for each Guest is provided for the traditional toast to the Bride and Groom [No other alcoholic beverages are permitted]

FRIDAY

12:00noon - 1:15pm     Wedding Rehearsal at the Manor

 

SATURDAY

10:00am                          Arrival of the Bride, Groom, & Wedding Party

                                         Opening of the Bride and Groom's Changing Rooms

10:45am                          Arrival of the Guests

11:15am                          Processional and Commencement of the Ceremony

12:00noon                      Recessional, followed by the Greeting of the Guests

12:45pm                         The High Tea Wedding Buffet is served. Traditional                                                 toasts and remarks may be conducted at this time

2:45pm                            The Guests depart. The Principals retire to the                                                         Changing Rooms to gather their belongings.

3:15pm                            The Wedding Party departs.

Services which are the responsibility of the Wedding Party to provide if desired, include

  • Wedding Cake, ceremonial knife, server

  • Ceremonial Stemware for the Bride and Groom

  • Bride's Bouquet, additional florals

  • Boutonnieres

  • Live music [for Chapel Service only]

  • Photographer/Videographer

How do I Arrange my Wedding at the Manor Package?

  • The entire Wedding at the Manor Package is available for $2,250.00 by calling the Dempsey Manor Office at (616) 802-4588    [There is no reduction in the Package for any element or service not required]

  • We appreciate being contacted 90 days or more in advance; but not less than 45 days before your event [which begins the date of your Wedding Rehearsal]

  • An initial 50% deposit via Credit Card is required at the time of your Reservation

  • Full payment of the balance is due 31 days prior to the date of your event. It can be made by Credit Card or by personal check (if your draft is received in time to be processed by the bank a minimum of 31 days prior to your event)

  • The initial deposit is non-refundable if payment of any balance due is not processed by the 31st day prior to the date of your event

  • A cancellation fee of $425 applies if the cancellation is made 31 days or more prior to the date of your event. The initial deposit itself is non-refundable if the cancellation is made 30 days or less from the date of your event.
